Assessing impact is more than just customer satisfaction. Accountability for effectiveness -- lasting change in attitudes, beliefs, and behaviors -- is becoming an expectation of clients and stakeholders. Our self-efficacy tools are the next generation in emotional intelligence assessment and will provide you with a competitive edge. You can:
- Assess and track changes in self and relational competencies (self-efficacy), one of the strongest predictors of behavior and resilience
- Enhance coaching or therapeutic relationships
- Demonstrate effectiveness of your services
- Engage clients in self-assessment
- Establish and track progress toward goals, and provide accountability
- Provide measures of effectiveness for funding sources
Capabilities Awareness Profile (CAP©)
A person’s belief in their abilities is a better predictor of their behavior and performance than their actual abilities. These beliefs can be reliably measured with The Capabilities Awareness Profile (CAP©). The CAP is a simple, effective, affordable assessment tool developed at Prairie View from over a decade of outcomes research. Validity and reliability have been established.
Similar to emotional intelligence (EQ), which has proven to be a stronger indicator of success than IQ, self-efficacy takes these findings a step further. It is composed of 124 questions relating to an individual’s perception of their ability in a variety of areas, and takes approximately 20 minutes to complete online. The CAP© assesses the following scales: self-awareness, self-acceptance, self-actualization, self-regulation, adaptability, motivation, optimism, assertiveness, social identification, empathy, positive emotions, and role compliance. The answers are tabulated and presented in a simple one-page CAP Profile that graphs areas of growth challenges, growth potential, and growth assets. An interpretive guide accompanies the profile.
The CAP has a variety of clinical and non-clinical applications, including: pre-screening job applicants, identifying staff for management and leadership roles, facilitating career development, goal-setting in therapy or coaching, and tracking goal progress in treatment.
Perceived Competence of Functioning Inventory (PCFI©)
The Perceived Competence of Functioning Inventory (PCFI©), developed in 1992 at Prairie View, and updated in 2001, is a valid and reliable outcomes tool for measuring changes in self-efficacy. It has been used successfully for the past 16 years in the measurement of progress and change in a variety of populations. With a cumulative database of over 25,000 inventories, the PCFI© distinguishes between inpatients, outpatients, and non-clinical adolescents and adults. It is currently being used to measure outcomes in Prairie View’s adventure and experiential programs, and in a growing number of programs across the country.
The PCFI© is the primary tool we use to measure our effectiveness when working with groups. Clients can obtain a comprehensive outcomes report that explains the impact of the program, how it relates to team goals, and includes recommendations for follow-up.
Both the CAP© and the PCFI© are psychometrically sound assessment instruments. Click here for more information on the characteristics of a good outcomes tool.
Certification Training in the CAP© and PCFI© is offered quarterly at Prairie View, and can be delivered on location for agencies interested in integrated outcomes measurement for their programs and services.
